On February 14, some couples and families celebrate Valentine's Day. Now people approach this date in completely different ways. Still, many people want to give a gift, surprise and please their loved one. For example, you can make origami for your lover. On Valentine's Day, there is a tradition of making surprises that contain more soul and emotions than financial investments. Such a gift will remain in the memory for a long time and will emphasize the sincerity of feelings.

Where did this holiday come from?

The history of this day goes back to the 5th century AD. Thanks to the clergyman Valentine, a holiday appeared in history, reminding everyone of the importance of love. He was executed, it is believed that he “suffered for his faith,” therefore he was posthumously recognized as a saint. This is how the full name of the holiday appeared - St. Valentina. Celebrated on February 14 - the day of his death.

Celebration traditions differ slightly in different countries. However, most people who celebrate Valentine's Day want to spend it with their loved ones or close friends. It is customary to exchange gifts and warm words.

Paper gifts

A homemade surprise is most appropriate as a gift. It could be a postcard, souvenir or paper origami. For Valentine's Day, things are made in the shape of hearts, doves, flowers or any symbols of love. Each pair can have its own unique symbol.

An interesting version of origami for Valentine's Day

Making something with your own hands is not as difficult as it seems at first glance. If you have no experience in needlework at all, you should use the detailed instructions. From the materials you will need:

  • beautiful sheet of paper,
  • wooden skewer,
  • decoration (heart, flower, etc.).

Let's start making:

  1. Fold the sheet in half.
  2. Fold the top corners towards the middle.
  3. Fold the bottom edge.
  4. Turn it inside out to create a diamond shape.
  5. Bend the front part up (triangle).
  6. We repeat the same thing on the reverse side.
  7. Turn it inside out.
  8. We pull the corners, turn them around and get a finished boat.
  9. Insert a wooden skewer or toothpick into the middle (secure it at the bottom with paper or tape).
  10. A heart, a logo with the name of a loved one, some personal symbol of the couple, etc. are threaded onto a skewer.

How to complement your origami for Valentine's Day?

Such a boat can be filled with candies, bath balls, glass hearts or any other appropriate decor. Origami can also be used when decorating a main gift or when making a greeting card. It makes sense to have a romantic date on Valentine's Day. Paper hearts, lanterns and cranes will help create the right atmosphere. In addition, they can simply decorate the apartment for the return of a loved one. Even a pragmatic and serious person will be pleased by such sincere attention.

So, origami for Valentine's Day is a universal gift or addition to it. To arrange a surprise and add romance to your everyday life, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. It is enough to spend very little time creating origami with your own hands.

Origami is the traditional Japanese art of folding paper figures.
The art of origami is a mystery, and it attracts every child with incredible transformations. It's not even a trick, it's a miracle! There are many images hidden in a piece of paper. In the hands of a child, paper comes to life. How much joy, how much delight! Children experience feelings of emotional comfort, a sense of the joy of childhood, and an incomparable feeling of satisfaction from handmade crafts.
Acting automatically, without conscious control, it is impossible to do origami. Therefore, origami classes are a kind of psychotherapy that can temporarily distract a person from everyday thoughts, that is, direct his attention to creative work. Origami increases the activity of both the left and right hemispheres of the brain, since it requires simultaneous control over the movements of both hands, which, in turn, leads to a positive change in a number of indicators.
With my master class, I invite you to plunge into the world of origami and make a “Heart” souvenir as a gift to your family and friends.

So, let's begin!

Present. This word makes any person smile and immediately remember the joy that the very fact of giving a gift gives, and the “sweet” anticipation of it.
Gifts are always a pleasure not only to receive, but also to give. And if you give a gift made with your own hands, then it is doubly pleasant.

Please open your palm
And extend your hand:
I give my heart
you.
Take it, don't drop it.

It burns like a candle
My soul is so hot
She is full of your love.
Be careful not to douse the fire
In my soul.
(from the Internet)

When we give a souvenir or a thing in the shape of a heart, we voluntarily or involuntarily express our love and want to touch the deepest strings of the soul of the person to whom we present the gift.

To make the “Heart” souvenir you will need:
- red and white office paper, A4 format,
- scissors;
- ruler;
- PVA glue;

Step-by-step making of a heart.

To make a souvenir you will need 98 red and 80 white modules measuring 1/32 of an A4 sheet.

All modules in rows are placed on the short side.

We start assembling with one module, gradually increasing the number of modules in each row. When enlarging, the first and last modules in each row are put on single corners so that the free pockets are inside modules.
So, row 1 – 1 red module;
Row 2 – 2 red modules.

Row 3 – 3 red modules.

4th row – 4 red modules.

Row 5 – 5 modules (2 red, 1 white, 2 red)

Row 6 – 6 modules (2 red, 2 white, 2 red)

We continue to increase the number of white modules in the middle to six.

From the 11th row, a red module appears in the middle between the white ones.
We put on 11 modules (2 red, 3 white, 1 red, 3 white, 2 red)

In the 12th row - 12 modules (2 red, 3 white, 2 red, 3 white, 2 red)

We continue to increase the number of red modules in the middle to four.

From the 15th row we begin to make lateral curves. First one side, then the other.
On the white modules of the 14th row in the middle we put 2 white modules. Then to the left and to the right of them we put on 2 red modules.

Row 16 – 5 red modules.

Row 17 – 4 red modules

Similarly, we make a rounding on the other side, repeating rows 15, 16 and 17.

Our heart is ready. Let's start making a stand.
Let me remind you that all modules in rows are placed on the short side!
We begin to assemble the first and second row at the same time. We place 12 white modules in each row. We close them in a ring.

In the third row we alternate the modules by color: 1 white, 1 red, 1 white... There are 12 modules in total.

Glue the heart onto the stand. The souvenir is ready!

I bring to your attention several other design options for this souvenir.

If, from the very beginning of assembling the heart, you glue all the modules with PVA glue, then glue a small paper flower on it, and glue magnetic tape on the back side, you will get a beautiful, original souvenir - a refrigerator magnet.

You can put the heart on a skewer and then stick it into a beautifully decorated Styrofoam cup. You will get another, no less original and cute, souvenir.

You can make a souvenir with two hearts.
The big heart is made in the same sequence, only from modules measuring 1/16 of an A4 sheet. A piece of foam plastic wrapped in red oracal was used as a stand.

Give a heart as a gift?
But how can I be without a heart?!
And in return give me yours,
Then we will be fine!

Whatever the gift in the shape of a heart: a small heart placed in your hand or a large heart that is difficult to carry alone - it will always help your loved one smile and feel loved and warmed by your attention!

"I give you my heart"
I give you my heart
On a white leaf,
I give you my heart
Do whatever you want with him.
Walk anywhere
Walk with him everywhere
Draw whatever you want
I won't be angry.
But it's better on it
Don't learn to draw,
Let my heart
Will remain clean.

Everyone wants a gift to be pleasant, bright, unforgettable, joyful, original, delightful.
I hope that we succeeded, at least a little bit, today!

Let's go into the world of modular origami to do paper heart different ways. Let's start with the simple and end with the complex option.

Hearts made from modules can be given as a gift for Valentine's Day or for any other occasion. They are suitable for room decoration. Not many parts are required to make each model. Prepare them in advance so that nothing distracts from the assembly.

Simple heart made of modules

You will need 64 red paper modules (how to make them,). Take thick sheets, but not cardboard. The optimal indicator is 80-100 g/sq.m. m.

Take 6 triangles and connect them into a circle with 6 more pieces, inserting the long ends of the modules of the second row into the pockets of the first.

The next row is 12 triangles, placed with a pocket on each end of the previous row. Make 2 more rows of 12 pieces each - this is the base of the paper heart. Set it aside.

Take 14 modules and thread them one into another in a chain. Repeat again to get two identical pieces.

Now they need to be given a rounded shape and attached to the base on the sides. I recommend gluing all the parts of this model. It turns out very fragile. Bring the ends down where the sides of the heart meet. It made a cute present for Valentine's Day.

Modular origami - paper heart in red and white colors

You will make the next heart quickly too. There will be no difficulties, since the standard assembly method is used.

You will need:

  • 35 red modules;
  • 39 white parts.

No glue needed. The heart turns out to be durable.

Start with one red module. Place it in front of you with the long ends facing forward. Place one triangle on each of them so that the long ends also point forward.

There are three modules in the 3rd row: two red and one white in the middle. Next, the red parts are put on only at the edges, that is, they occupy the first and last places in the row. The rest of the details are white. Their number increases with each row by 1 piece, until there are 7 white modules in the row and a red module on each side.

Heart dividers into two equal halves. Put on one edge 1 cr., 2 white., 1 cr. Same thing on the other side.

In the penultimate rows there are 2 credits, in the last rows there are 1 credit. The red and white heart made of modules is ready. As you can see, nothing complicated.

Large heart made of two parts

Let's move on to the most complex and beautiful option. The model consists of two parts, which are then connected together by additional modules. You will need red and white triangles.

Big red heart

Take 74 red and collect in the following order:

  1. The long ends of the module are facing you. Insert two more into the pockets of one, and then three.
  2. Now continue assembly on one side only. Put on 2 modules: the first into the pockets of the 1st and 2nd from the previous row, the second into the outer pocket of the 1st, so that the outer end remains free.
  3. Make another 34 rows using two red pieces inserted in a similar manner.
  4. Continue the same assembly on the other side.
  5. When the two pieces of the heart are ready, join them together by inserting the ends of the last modules into the pockets.
  6. Shape into a heart shape and set aside.

Small red and white heart

For the inside, take 48 white parts and 48 red ones.

The heart is assembled according to the same principle as a large one, only the outer edging is white and the inner part is red.

Start also. Then complete 24 rows on each side. They consist of 1cr. and 1 white triangles. Connect the ends and form a heart.

To connect the prepared parts, take two red modules and insert them into the center of the small heart. Attach the large one on top in the place where the halves join. Ready! The result is impressive. Is not it?

Modular origami: broken heart

Another unusual option is a broken heart made from modules. It can be assembled in one evening. It will not be difficult for you if you are at least a little familiar with modular origami.

To work again, take red and white paper. Make the required number of parts:

  • 130 red modules;
  • 213 white triangles.

Start assembly from the bottom by connecting one red piece to two, inserting the long ends into the pockets. Gradually increase the number of modules in a row, following the diagram. All parts have the long side outward and the ends facing forward. Use white where indicated on the diagram.

You can give such a heart to your loved one as a sign of your feelings. For strength, glue the modules together during the assembly process.

One part of the box is ready.

Similarly, we collect the same part - the second half of the heart. We glue both halves together and we get .

We cut out a heart from red cardboard according to the size of our blank, then glue it - this is the bottom of the box.

2. Cover for the box .
We assemble from red modules, inserting them into each other - a total of 26 modules per half. Give a heart shape.
