Step 1: materials

Step 2: Seam corners
Carefully, observing the safety standards when working with a power tool, we grind the corners of the nut. You can tighten the nut in mozgotisks and the grinder alternately round the corners. Be sure to check that material is removed evenly, and remember that one plane of the nut remains intact.
Step 3: narrowing
When the corners are removed, we proceed to narrowing, that is, giving the nut the shape of a ring. Cut / grind the material from the sides, narrowing to the bottom. We constantly check for symmetry, do not grind too much, so as not to spoil.
After narrowed under the tree enough, we remove small chamfers along the edges of the seal and modify the shape at your discretion.
Step 4: hole
At this stage, we pick up a suitable tool to remove the internal thread and form the hole for the finger. I took my faithful "friend" - a dremel, and grinded the thread for 15 minutes, so that the nut got hot.
We grind the material evenly, observe symmetry, be sure to make internal chamfers and check how homemade sits on the finger.
Step 5: sanding
We change the dremel to a file and clean, grind our brainwashing, smoothing the grooves from the grinder and the dremel. After that, we finish sanding with sandpaper of various grain sizes, from 220 to 600.
I do not like rings that are too glossy, so I settled on the degree of polish shown in the photo, but you, if you wish, bring the ring to the desired smoothness.
Step 6: design the print
We include brain fantasy and develop a drawing that we will apply to the ring. For example, I stylized my initials, mirrored them symmetrically and rendered them better so that the print was clear.
Step 7: preparing for etching
The etching process will be carried out by electrolysis, so that the surface of the ring, which should be intact, we cover with nail polish, adhesive tape or something similar. For this I chose masking tape, which I glued tightly to the ring, and then evenly and accurately cut out the previously invented drawing on it with a sharp knife.
Step 8: etching
The etching process is pretty interesting. I conducted it several times and I will say that everything is not as difficult and dangerous as it seems, although the smell is not very pleasant, but you can just close your mouth. And as a source brainworm I am using a 12V charger.
So, we dilute the salt solution, connect the positive wire of the charger to the ring. We dip a cotton swab in a saline solution and attach a negative wire to it in a wet place, then we use the resulting "electrode" -stick in those places crafts to be etched. Moreover, the longer you hold the stick, the more this place will etch. Since this homemade not just a ring, but a signet, then I etched quite deep grooves so that the impression was clear. And the whole process took about 5 minutes and 7 sticks.
After etching is complete, disconnect the wires, wipe the seal in water and remove the tape. Perhaps in those places where the adhesive tape did not adhere well, unnecessary etching turned out, but I think this is not critical.
Step 9: varnishing
After the first day of wearing the ring, my finger has become "rusty", that is, the homemade product has oxidized, so I recommend that you cover the seal with a colorless varnish. I did just that - covered brain print polyurethane varnish.
Step 10: Craft ready!

Ira equipped a real workshop at home, because working with metal obliges you to work on machines, to be able to operate with burners and even with a dental bur (!)
But it's always better to see once: Ira showed us the entire process of creating a product, in this case, a ring, from start to finish.
"So, let's begin!
First, we collect the required amount of silver and melt it in crucibles to make a total mass.
When the metal becomes liquid, we pour it into a mold. In it, the metal is fixed and instantly cools ...
Here in such a "bullet". The bullets can be different depending on what "caliber" we have chosen.
Further, in order to get closer to the shape of a ring, we need to make a strip from the "bullet". To do this, we need a Rolls machine, where the metal is scrolled between two shafts. First, we level the square to the desired size in the shafts with grooves, and then we scroll through the flat shafts and get a strip of the required thickness.
During the rolling of the metal, it must be annealed periodically, or, as the jewelers say, “let it go”. This is done in order to relieve stress from the metal and it will roll more easily further.
In order to get a specific ring, for example size 17.5, we need to measure out a strip of the desired size. I was prompted with an excellent formula that I always use: strip thickness 1.7 times 3 + ring size 17.5 times 3 = 57.6 mm (required strip length). Then we need to connect the edges and close them in a circle.
They must close together very tightly, only then we can quickly and well binge the ring. We do this with a torch and solder (an alloy of silver and other metals).
When the ends are firmly sealed, we put on this strange shape on the Wrigle and knock on the future ringlet in spite of our neighbors with a wooden mallet, giving it the perfect shape and the right size. And now we already have a full-fledged ring that can be put on a finger, though not very beautiful yet :) Let's start decorating it. First, we throw in the chill for 2-3 minutes and the blackness leaves the ring.
Then we carefully work with the file, smooth out all the irregularities and release the beauty of the metal.
Do not forget to collect silver sawdust, from which you will later get the same beautiful rings :)
After the file, go to the drill and grind the ring a little more with sandpaper. And now, the ring is ready! But we have not a simple ring, but with a duck.
We scratch an approximate drawing on the ring and move on to all the well-known dental burs. No, no, we will not treat our teeth yet, but they will help us make a duck.
Something like this, working with burs, we first get something that looks like a duck, and then a real one. Quack quack!:)
