Catdogs were watched by my daughters every morning on TV in front of kindergarten and school. That's why I loved him so much. There was an opportunity to connect it, I show what I did, and I suggest trying to connect with me.
Material:
- Acrylic threads "Children's novelty" 50g/200m - 2 skeins. Knitted in 2 strands.
- Threads orange (red), blue any on the spout 10g each.
- White felt for eyes.
- Mouline threads for embroidery of eyes, eyebrows, mouth are black.
- Black woolen thread about 1 m, for a mustache, bangs.
- Any brown thread for embroidery around the dog's eye.
- The wire is thick and strong, which will not break from frequent bends. I took a curtain string. If you plan to knit a toy for a small child, make it without a frame.
- Sintepuh or cotton wool on the filler.
- Any yarn for a scarf, at your discretion.

Description of knitting KotoDog
1. We knit the cat's head
Cast on 4 needles with 8 stitches. Knit in stockinette stitch for 3 rows.
4 row. 1 and 2 knitting needles for 8 loops. We add from the broaches between the loops on the 3rd needle: 3p - + 1p - 3p - + 1p - 2p - + 1p, on the 4th needle: 2p - + 1p - 3p - + 1p - 3p. Added 5 loops, This will be the muzzle, and where the loops are not added, there will be a back of the head.
5-10 row. We knit with front stitch.
11 row. 1, 2 knitting needles, 8 loops. 3 needle: 8p - + 1p - 3p - + 1p. 4 needle: 3p - + 1p - 8p.
12-19 row. We knit with front stitch.

2. We knit the body of Kotopes
We knit without changing the number of loops 25 cm with front stitch. We mark with markers 3 and 4 knitting needles.
3. Knit the dog's head
We throw from 2 and 3 knitting needles 2 loops to 1 and 4 knitting needles. On these 20 loops we knit the boomerang heel. This will be the back of the dog's head. We take the knitting needles so that the head is turned towards the cat. When the boomerang heel is tied, we knit 1 row with the front surface. We throw the loops evenly on 4 knitting needles, 8 loops each. Then we decrease on the knitting needles, where the corners of the heel ended. We take 1 loop from each knitting needle and knit together the front one. Corner between needles 1 and 2, second corner between needles 3 and 4.
We subtract through the row. You will get 3 decreases in each corner (5 rows will be knitted). There should be 6 stitches on each needle. We knit 6 rows of the front surface. Then we decrease in each row on each knitting needle 1 loop, until 1 loop remains on the knitting needles. Through the last 4 loops we stretch the loop, close it. We hide the end inside the head.
3. Wire frame. Assembling the Catdog's body
We measure 3 lengths of the Cat Dog, from the tip of the dog's nose to the top of the cat. When the wire is measured, cut or bite off with wire cutters. We fold in half. 1 end shorter by 1/3 of the body. We twist the ends, they should not stick out. We make a ring on the cat's head, twist it to the place where we want to place the paws. On each side, we bend the wire into paws. The paws should be 10-12 cm each. The paws of the cat are twisted, we move on to the body. We twisted the body between the paws, we also measure on the dog's paws. We twist them. At the tips of each paw, we leave a ring untwisted, the leg will rest on it.
We put the frame in the body. Before that, we put it on a knitted product and put markers on the points from where the paws of the frame will come out. They put the frame in, pulled out the legs. They bent the frame on the dog's head. We stuff the body with sintepuh, cotton wool or other material. To do this, evenly distribute the filler around the frame. (My hand is narrow, it freely passed inside.)

4. Paws
We knit paws of the same length, 4 pieces. We measure the length of the wire on the paws. I got 10 cm each. Dial 9 loops on 3 knitting needles, 3 loops per knitting needle. Leave the end of the thread long, we will sew the foot to the body with it. We knit 6 cm with front stitch (about 22 rows). On two knitting needles, we add 1 loop from the broaches through the loop. We knit 3 rows of the front surface. We decrease in the next row all the added loops, knitting 2 loops together with the front one. There will be 9 loops again. In the next row on each knitting needle we knit 2 loops together with the front one, 1 front loop. In the next we knit 2 loops together with the front. Through the remaining 3 loops stretch the loop, close it. We bring the ends inward, turn the paw out.
Since I knitted from 2 threads of yarn, it will be easy for me to fasten the frame to the edge of the foot. We tie a knot through the wire.
We twist the paw, putting it on the frame. We fill with filler and sew to the body. We bend the rings on the edges of the paws, on them the toy will be more stable. I eventually discovered my mistake, placing my paws close to each other. When you make the frame, consider the distance between the heads and the middle of the body. Paws should be at an equal distance from the middle of the body. So that the toy would keep balance when standing on its paws.
5. Ears
We pull off the corners of the cat's head a little and sew up the ears.
For the dog we knit two ears. We collect 4 loops on 3 knitting needles. We knit 7 rows of facial loops. We add through the first 6 loops 1 loop from the broach. Then we add 1 loop at the end of the row. Knit 13 more rows in stockinette stitch. We decrease. On the loop that was added, we throw 1 loop on both sides (3 loops together front). 4 stitches will be reduced in each row. When 2 loops remain, we knit them together, close the loop, thread the end of the thread inside the ear.
We sew on the ears arbitrarily.
So that the ears would not stick out, I passed a thread through them and the head, from which I knitted the body and ears, tied it into 3 knots, cut the ends short.
6. Spots on the body of the Cat Dog.
I tried to make them from felt, but they did not lay flat on the knitted fabric. I tried to embroider, but I found it very tiring. But what an option it might be. Then I knitted one spot, and it fit the knitted fabric well. The color for the spots should be taken a little darker than the main canvas, otherwise they somehow look harsh. I haven’t tried it, but I got the idea to paint the spots with a pencil, probably it’s quick and doesn’t look so catchy.

7. Noses
The cat's nose is red, orange, bright brown. It's different in different cartoons. The dog's nose is always blue. I knitted the same noses. For the cat's nose, I took thin yarn 300m / 50g. For dog nose 200m/50g.
We knit as follows. Cast on 6 stitches, knit 1 row. On the front side - facial loops, on the wrong side - purl. Then we add through the row 1 loop from the broaches at the end and the beginning of the row 3 times. We knit 12 rows. Dec 1 st at end of each row until 6 sts remain. Close the last loops. Leave the thread long. We pass it along the edge of the canvas and pick up the nose. We fill the nose with filler (a small lump so that the filler does not stick out and is not heavy). Sew on the nose of the cat and dog.
8. Eyes, eyebrows, mustache, lip and bangs
Cut out eyes from white felt. The cat's eyes are 2.5 cm in diameter. The dog has 2.5x4 cm, oval. We sew the eyes with a white thread over the edge with small stitches. We embroider a pupil with a black floss - a crumb.
We embroider eyebrows. It is better to do this at the same time when we embroider the eyes and upper lip of the cat.
We embroider the cat's upper lip.
The whiskers of the cat are made of black wool. Tie a knot on the thread. Leave the knot outside near the nose. Take out the thread next to it and make a French knot, as in embroidery. Cut the end of the thread, leave 3 cm on the mustache.
Have a dog to tie a bang, like a fringe.
The dog has a brown rim around its left eye. I embroidered it with a back stitch
The cat needs to tighten the upper lip so that it sticks out. We take a thread in the color of the main fabric. We stick it above the nose and, as shown in the figure, draw it 3-4 cm below the embroidered lip.
We make a long stitch and return the thread to a point above the nose. Pull up the lip. We tie the thread into knots, hide the ends with a needle inside the body.
It remains to knit a scarf or other accessories and come up with a fairy tale for the child.
